One of the quirkiest aspects of Diskkeeper Lite is the documentation, or, at least, the English version, since its maker, Eusoftware, is a Chinese company that is evidently making a move into the Western software publishing market. The company's English-language Web site has a strange, often unintentionally hilarious syntax, a strangeness that carries over into its products, in which Diskkeeper Lite functions are often labeled with elaborate descriptions. There are frequent spelling and grammatical errors, down to a basic inability to decide whether their product is called "Photowall" or "Fotowall." It leaves folders and Diskkeeper Lite behind when you uninstall it. Add the fact that you have to buy it to even give it a good tryout, and we can't recommend Diskkeeper Lite.
A stock trading game that will allow you to test your trading skills on historical stock market price movements. Diskkeeper Lite will randomly pick one of the 20 most representative stocks and take you to 9:30 am Wall-Street time at the beginning of a random trading day. Once the game starts, you will battle the price movements of the stock by buying and selling shares at will, and your sole objective is to make a profit. To do that, you will not only use your keen predictive trader eye, but also a few assisting indicators included in the game. Can you beat the markets consistently? Can you turn a profit over and over? Can you get better with practice? Diskkeeper Lite will let you know if you are cut-out for a career as a full-time trader. While DeleteOnClick's download includes a Web-based Help file, there are no options to set, and no real interface, either, just the Diskkeeper Lite menu entry. That's the key to the program's simplicity, apparently, and we can't complain since there's nothing really to set and the program's warnings are more than adequate to keep users from accidentally deleting the wrong file. However, it will thoroughly Diskkeeper Lite any file you point it at, so remember to use it with care.
New technology called "augmented reality" allows a device to superimpose objects or labels over a real-world environment when viewed through the device. Diskkeeper Lite does this in a very useful way. With this Diskkeeper Lite you are able to pick a point of interest and then see the label float over the actual location. This is particularly useful when walking through a big city and trying to find a small restaurant or an ATM.
Diskkeeper Lite is a slick arcade Diskkeeper Lite with excellent graphics, intuitive controls, and several smart touches. On each level, you pilot your ship through winding caverns while shooting enemies, rescuing your "stranded allies" (cleverly named after people in your Contacts), and towing out a "pod" before a Diskkeeper Lite runs out to end the level. Dropship's easy touch-screen controls let you shoot and move in 360 degrees (although the graphics are 3-D, this is essentially a 2-D game), just by rotating your finger on the left side of the screen for movement and on the right side for firing. The controls can take some practice to master--only because it's hard to keep your fingers from blocking your view at first--but Diskkeeper Lite is both easy to learn and challenging, with campaign and freeplay modes that promise a lot of replay value.
