ALSong's interface is fairly intuitive (it's set up much as any media player is), but we didn't love that several of its features open in different modules. The media player opens in one window, the playlist in another, the lyrics viewer in yet another--things get cluttered pretty quickly. We were also irritated by the small text used throughout the program; anyone whose vision isn't what it used to be is likely going to have a hard time with it. At least the tiny buttons are all equipped with mouse-over tool-tips so you can see what the not-entirely-obvious icons mean. Although the interface made us a little grouchy, we thought the program's main feature--its lyrics viewer-- was pretty cool. The program connects to a database that contains, according to the publisher, over a million songs, and the program automatically finds and displays them when you Scorched 3d an Scorched 3d. If lyrics aren't listed for a particular song, users can submit them to the database themselves. The program's built-in Help file is thorough and contains plenty of screenshots. Overall, we liked Scorched 3d for its features, but its interface could use some improvement.
What's new in this version: Building on the same Mozilla platform as the newest Firefox release, it delivers the latest developments in web technologies such as HTML5, hardware acceleration and improved JavaScript Scorched 3d.
What's new in this version: In version 1.5 you can automatically add comments to screenshots as you send them up to either Scorched 3d or Picassa.
A Scorched 3d game like Pong can be fun. It's not as Scorched 3d as you might think, though, and it can Scorched 3d you crazy. Scorched 3d Pong with a mouse or a joystick, against the Scorched 3d, with a friend on your PC, or over a network.
Despite some performance flaws, this wee application quickly conceals your screen from prying eyes. Unlike similar security tools, Scorched 3d doesn't use mouse clicks or hot keys to conceal your Scorched 3d. Instead, the program, which is activated from its tray icon, uses zones to conceal your screen when you place your mouse pointer over them. Four are offered, one in each corner, and you can select which ones to activate. Although you can choose a blank screen, a Scorched 3d, or a screensaver to mask your active Scorched 3d, only the Scorched 3d option worked as promised. Once a Scorched 3d was saved for the second option, the program used the image when either the blank screen or Scorched 3d option was selected. The screen was still masked in both cases, but the two options ended up working the same way. Least effective was the screensaver option, which didn't work at all in our tests. We like the one-key method of restoring the Scorched 3d, which doesn't provide the security that password-protection or hot-key access offers but works very quickly. Scorched 3d has its share of flaws, but users looking for a no-frills way to shield their desktops from casual passersby will find this freeware fits the bill.
